One of their projects includes making quilts for the Georgia Chapter of QOV which presents quilts to a veteran of Georgia as well as in Cresswind. Other recipients in Cresswind include Ron Micuch, Kim Koenig, Sam Sica.
Rose Hosey explained more about the QOV foundation:
It’s a group of quilters across the United States ----- as of December 31, 2025 - 436,429 quilts have been awarded nationwide. The foundations’ mission is to honor service members and veterans touched by war and those that served.
A Quilt of Valor® (QOV) is a quality, handmade quilt that is machine or hand quilted. The Quilt says unequivocally, “Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation.”
The top of the quilt – with its many colors, shapes, and fabrics represents the communities and the many individuals we are.
The batting is the center of the quilt, it’s warmth. It represents our hope that this quilt will bring warmth, comfort, and healing.
The backing is the strength that supports the other layers. It represents your strength, the support of family, communities, and our nation.
Each stitch that holds the layers together represents love and gratitude.

At our annual meeting on January 19, a QOV was presented to Rob Plawecki by Rose Hosey, a member of the Cresswind Quilter. As the quilt was presented, Rob's wife Joyce draped the quilt over him.
